What is mental maturity and how does it occur? Part IV

Maturity of the fourth part, we want to continue the previous parts in this part.

Continuing to travel from rawness to psychological maturity

Adults live in the present.

But an immature person either misses the past or is worried and disappointed about the future.

When an adult makes a mistake,

and is faced with objections and criticism from others,

Takes responsibility for his behavior or provides an appropriate and truthful response.

But adults who have not reached mental maturity,

They react with aggression and justification;

By projecting, they blame their problems and mistakes on others and deny it by dodging and angering.

These primitive behaviors are caused by the fear and weaknesses that have been accumulated in them.

A person who has not reached mental maturity,

In communicating and talking with others, it does not take into account the goal of sharing the thoughts and feelings of others.

Rather, he communicates more to play and release the tension arising from his internal conflicts.

Not only does he not have the ability to listen to others,

But in many cases, he can’t even tolerate being alone.

The desire to escape from oneself is abundant in immature people.

Their decisions are based on their feelings and impulses;

Like a person who spends money and then regrets it.

Even their judgments are based on their feelings and defense mechanisms and their own contradictions.

These people look for the cause of most problems outside of themselves;

For this reason, they have a lot of pessimism.

A mature person does not seek approval and clinging to others or clinging to his negative thoughts.

A mature person has a realistic image of himself, others and life; a desirable self-image with the message that: ((I am good, capable, valuable and lovable)).

A person who has reached emotional maturity has psychological flexibility.

He has goals and values for himself, he learns from failures.

It is humorous and optimistic and has the power of self-care and self-awareness.

(Mikaela Haas) says about mental flexibility: ((In distress and difficulty, meaning and concept can also be found.

Struggle, pain and hardship can lead to wisdom, progress and happiness.

It all depends on our attitude.

Remember that not all people reach the same level of mental maturity in life.

In fact, reaching mental maturity is a dynamic process and you can constantly work on it and improve it throughout your life.
